Assistant Finance Director Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a senior finance professional to lead the Group’s purchases and payroll, treasury and governance portfolio, including the purchase-to-pay and payroll cycles, treasury management (including investments, banking and covenants), financial governance and the internal control environment, contract and project governance, business partnering, supplier management, insurance and financial policies and processes. The role leads all areas of cash outflow and governance and has overall ownership of the purchase-to-pay cycle, the payroll cycle and the finance control environment. The postholder will provide robust stewardship, operational leadership and high-calibre governance expertise across the Group and will support the other Assistant Finance Directors on month-end and year-end reporting and on budgeting and planning. While their primary place of work will be Sherborne Boys, the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. They will regularly be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. This role provides an exciting opportunity to play a central part in both the success of the individual schools and the continued development of the Group as a whole. |

Porter / Cleaner
Sherborne Schools Group is looking for a Porter / Cleaner to join our Services Team, based mainly at Sherborne Boys School, with some work across other schools in the Group when needed. This is a practical, hands‑on role that supports the day‑to‑day running of the School and helps keep our buildings and grounds clean, safe and ready for use. The role is varied and active, combining cleaning duties with portering work. This includes daily cleaning of school buildings, helping with deeper cleans at certain times of the year, moving furniture and equipment, and setting up and clearing rooms for lessons, exams, school activities and events. You may also assist with deliveries and collections around the site, waste and recycling, and keeping outdoor areas tidy and safe, particularly during poor weather. You will be part of a friendly and supportive Services Team, working closely with colleagues, pupils, staff and visitors, so a polite and helpful manner is important. A full driving licence is required, as the role may involve driving school vehicles from time to time. This is a full‑time position, working 40 hours per week across 5 days out of 7, with some weekend working on a rota basis. Flexibility is important, as hours may occasionally vary to support school events or busy periods. No two days are the same, and the role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, working with others, and taking pride in keeping their workplace clean and well presented. |

Teacher of Business and/or Economics Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a dynamic and creative Teacher of Business and/or Economics who will be responsible for teaching A-Level Economics and/or Business to Sixth Form pupils. The appointed teacher will be an outstanding practitioner, demonstrating high quality subject knowledge, strong classroom practice, and a commitment to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. While their primary place of work will be Sherborne Boys, the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. From time to time, they may be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. Resident Graduate Assistant
Sherborne Schools Group is looking to appoint a Graduate Assistant or Undergraduate Intern to support the academic and/or co‑curricular life of the School. This is a residential role based mainly at Sherborne Girls, with opportunities to be involved across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. Accommodation is provided within one of the boarding houses in return for boarding duties, and the role offers an excellent introduction to life in a busy boarding school. It would particularly suit someone considering a future career in teaching or coaching and keen to gain practical, hands‑on experience. Graduate Assistants are fully involved in day‑to‑day school life. Depending on experience and interests, this may include supporting lessons, helping with activities and clubs, and contributing positively to departmental work. There is also an expectation of involvement in the weekend activities programme, working alongside experienced staff. As a resident member of staff, the postholder will play an important role in one of the School’s boarding houses, supporting pupils in the evenings and at weekends, helping with house events, and being an approachable and reliable presence for pupils. Full induction and safeguarding training will be provided, and support is available throughout the role. This is a varied and rewarding position for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive graduate who enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to contribute to the wider life of a school community. The experience gained will be valuable for anyone looking ahead to a career in education or youth development. |

In this role, you will work as part of the sports team to deliver a successful sports programme that enables all girls to receive appropriate coaching in a variety of sports including Lacrosse, Hockey, Netball, Cricket and Tennis and to be supported to play in competitive fixtures according to their ability. You will develop a joy for sport in all individuals and continually seek opportunities to drive and improve the reputation of Sherborne Girls on a local and national level. |
